aboutprocess_engUKEEP is a credit facility developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), targeting Ukrainian private companies in all sectors looking to invest in energy efficiency or renewable energy projects – investments that will decrease energy consumption, increase own energy production or make energy usage more efficient. UKEEP provides free technical assistance by international energy efficiency consultants for companies with project ideas that are eligible for UKEEP financing. If a project idea is found feasible, UKEEP can provide debt financing for the project.

UKEEP was established to facilitate investments in energy efficiency in Ukraine. Today, Ukrainian companies are using more than three times more energy to produce the same output as the average EU company. Needless to say, there is an enormous potential for Ukrainian companies to cut energy costs and increase their competitiveness. See our comprehensive section on energy efficiency for examples of energy efficiency investments, articles on the topic, and much, much more.

The UKEEP credit line is provided through participating banks in Ukraine, who in turn on-lend to Ukrainian private companies applying for UKEEP financing. As of October 2009, the participating banks are Ukreximbank, Bank Forum and OTP Bank. For further information on how to apply for UKEEP financing, please see the section How to Apply.
